Atheism Banner Zip Ties Clipped at North Park Near Evergreen Avenue, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 9:38 PM Tuesday of criminal damage to property at 410 North Arlington Heights Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders clipped zip ties holding up the atheism promotion banner on display at North School Park.

A Chicago Coalition of Reason banner near the Christmas manger display and near the Evergreen Avenue side of North School Park was taken down Tuesday night by vandals.

There was no damage to the actual banner reported, thank God.

Incidents of vandalism occurred last year in the “free speech zone”.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 between 7:00 PM and 9:37 PM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 2:37 (hours: minutes).
