Snow Brings Down Some Trees and Large Branches on Homes and Power Lines in Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Hoffman Estates, and Streamwood

Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:18 AM Saturday to a report of a tree down on a house at 3236 Walker Lane West Arlington Heights, IL. Firefighter/paramedics received a report that a backyard tree fell on a house.

Firefighters checked for hazard. The fallen tree did not cause a loss of power to the house.

A small branch also affected a primary line between 132 and 134 Cedar Circle in Streamwood with a downed tree reported causing a fire, according to a report called in about 6:17 a.m.

A branch also fell into a primary line at 655 Flagstaff in Hoffman Estates and caused a tree to start on fire, according to a report called in about 6:36 a.m.

A branch also fell on power lines at 427 Navajo Trail in Buffalo Grove and caused a tree to start on fire, according to a report called in about 6:44 a.m.

A tree fell on top of a garage at 222 Cypress Drive and damaged two vehicles, according to a report received at 7:24 a.m. Firefighters reported an eight-inch branch fell through the garage roof, but did not cause any structural damage.

No large power outages are reported in the northwest suburbs near Arlington Heights, but Northbrook has a power outage near Mission Hills near Sanders Road and Walters Avenue.
