The FBI complaint states that Stoessel entered the TCF Bank branch, 440 E. Rand Road on Nov. 9 at about 10 a.m. He allegedly approached the teller and “made a threatening demand for money,” officials said. The offender indicated he was armed but did not display a weapon.

If convicted, the Arlington Heights resident faces up to 20 years in federal prison, officials said.

Investigators were tipped off to Stoessel after descriptions of the robber were noted in media reports, FBI officials said. The complaint was unsealed after Stoessel was arrested and taken into custody, FBI officials said.

A residential burglary was reported last Sunday in the block of 300 West Tanglewood Drive. The Cardinal will be checking to determine whether there is any connection of the residential burglary to the arrested bank robbery suspect Stossel, who lives in the same block.

No suspect image of the Palatine Jewel-Osco TCF Bank has been released. It is unknown whether Stossel is also a suspect in the TCF Bank robbery in Palatine that occurred Friday November 13, 2015.
