Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:05 AM Monday to a brush fire near I-90 E And Il-53/I-290 Schaumburg, Il). Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a brush fire was located along eastbound I-90 west of Route 53.
Firefighters were using pump cans and a deck gun on top of a fire engine to extinguish the fire.
An extra engine crew and truck crew were called to the scene. Firefighters were working to protect cars in a parking lot at Catamaran, but at 11:20 am. there was no immediate risk to the cars.
Firefighters reported they were fighting a wind-driven brush fire with a limited water supply.
Eastbound I-90 was backed up to about Plum Grove Road at 11:23. a.m.
Fire companies were washing down hot spots by 11:30 a.m.
