Police responded about 2:30 a.m. to the Northern Arizona University Flagstaff campus to a report of a shooting near Mountain View Hall.

Police discovered one person fatally wounded and three others injured.

The shooting suspect is in custody, according to a university spokesperson.

One person died and three others were wounded in the shooting, the spokesperson said.

Mountain View Hall houses most of the campus’ students involved in Greek organizations.

According to an emergency alert sent on the official Twitter account by Northern Arizona University, residents in Mountain View Hall were asked to stay indoors.

Several people commented on the Tweet that the NAU text alerts did not arrive in a timely manner.

“@NAU So where’s our nau alert? I live on north campus and this would have been nice to know before finding out about it on yikyak”

“@NAU okay but where were the NAU alerts?”

“@NAU the fact that your alert went out an HOUR after the fact is 100% unacceptable
~thanks for the panic attack nau~”

“@NAU Why aren’t the text alerts being sent out???”
