Venus as “Morning Star” Soon to Be Joined by Mars and Jupiter at Dawn in the Eastern Sky

#ad▼

September’s morning planets are Venus and Mars. Venus is the brightest object that is still visible when morning twilight brightens the dawn sky. Mars is just to the lower left of Venus, but fades from view before Venus fades as the Sun brightens the morning.

In the latter half of September, Jupiter will rise while the sky is still dark enough to join the visibility of Venus and Mars.

September’s evening planet is Saturn — setting in the southwest sky after sunset.
