Two Children Rescued by Police, Checked for Heat Illness at Elk Grove Woods Plaza at Arlington Heights Rd and Higgins Rd, Elk Grove Village

Elk Grove Village police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:18 PM Wednesday to a well-being check for two children left in a car in the heat at Elk Grove Woods Plaza 45 South Arlington Heights Rd Elk Grove Village, IL. Police rescued two children from a car, but report they the children had no signs of distress. The ambulance was returned on the initial dispatch at about 4:05 p.m. Firefighter/paramedics were called back as a precaution at about 4:18 p.m. to check on two children — age 2 and age 3.

Air temperature at 3:51 p.m. at O’Hare International Airport was 89°F with a Heat Index of 92°F.
