Poll: Non-Politicians in the Lead; Donald Trump and Ben Carson Tied in Iowa Polls

An Iowa poll shows that GOP presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson is tied with Donald Trump. CNN’s Dana Bash reports.

Presidential candidate Ben Carson started the week moving into a tie position with Donald Trump in a new poll released Monday. Non-career politicians lead the GOP with Trump and Carson lead at 23 percent. Former HP chief Carly Fiorina is in second place at 10 percent.

Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, also has the highest favorability rating of any candidate (81 percent). That’s 14 points higher than Fiorina (67 percent). Trumps favorability rating has improved — changing from an unfavorable rating of 63% in May 2015 to a favorable rating of 61% at the end of August 2015.

Republican presidential hopeful Dr. Ben Carson spoke with Jim Acosta live on State of the Union to discuss his outsider candidacy.

Baits, Criticizes, and Antagonizes: Presidential candidate Donald Trump has turned to Twitter as a platform to launch attacks against others. CNN’s Chris Frates has more.
