FDNY firefighters, paramedics and police responded about 2:30 p.m. ET after a four-story building at 1438 Fulton Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant collapsed suddenly. Rescuers immediately went to work to search the rubble of the collapsed building in Brooklyn. Initially, one or a few people are reported injured with apparent non-life-threatening injuries. At the 60-minute mark, the search of the rubble was not entirely complete. Therefore, rescuers were not yet certain at 3:30 p.m. ET whether any victims remained under the debris of the collapse building.

Adjoining buildings at 1440, 1442 and 1444 Fulton Street were evacuated as the FDNY and New York City Department of Buildings inspected the building for structural stability.

NYPD and FDNY did not have any notice about the incident on their official Twitter accounts as of 3:30 p.m. ET.
