Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:26 PM Saturday to a crash with injuries Higgins Rd and Route 53 Schaumburg, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a crash with serious injuries occurred at Route 53 and Higgins Road. The crash was discovered in the westbound lanes about one-quarter east of Route 53, which is in the jurisdiction of Elk Grove Village.
Higgins Road shut down in both directions at about 10:36 p.m.
Crews used a Hurst Tool to pop a door, but no major extrication was needed.
Three patients were transported to area hospitals and three patients signed medical releases at the scene.
Higgins Road was shut down between West Frontage Road and Arlington Heights Road.
