Illinois State police and Schaumburg firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:50 AM Friday to a one-vehicle crash on Route 53 and I-90 Schaumburg, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a crash on southbound Route 53 at Higgins Road.
The crash was discovered north of Higgins Road in the southbound lanes. A vehicle apparently hit the center concrete barrier and glanced across all lanes without hitting any other vehicles.
When Schaumburg firefighters arrived the male driver was sitting safely in his vehicle and fortunately was not seriously injured. He refused medical transport.
Elk Grove Village firefighter/paramedics also responded to the crash, but staged off the expressway — only to respond up the ramp if needed.
