Fire with Building Collapse at Turano Baking Company Garage On Roosevelt Rd Near Scoville Ave, Oak Park

Oak Park police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:2 PM Tuesday to a commercial building fire at Turano’s Baking Company garage, 6520 Roosevelt Road Oak Park, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a fire with a building collapse.

The Turano’s garage is where the bakery trucks are located.

The fire alarm was a 3-11 Alarm and an extra alarm for multiple ambulance — an EMS Box — was also activated.

An ambulances possibly transported one victim to Loyola University Medical Center by 2:35 p.m. Three other injured people were transported to Rush Oak Park Hospital.

Firefighters from Elmwood, North Riverside, Berwyn, Stickney and other communities responded for mutual aid to Oak Park (See complete rundown at CHICAGOFIREMAP.NET).

Heavy smoke was dispersing over a wide area. Winds at 3:53 p.m. were 18 mph, gusting to 26 mph.
