Police Security Experts Concerned About Use of Drones for Terror Assaults

#ad▼

Law enforcement agencies are concerned that terrorists could use unmanned drones in future attacks on America. Jeff Pegues reports.

Security experts, such as NYPD’s Deputy Chief Salvatore DiPace are concerned about the possibility of drones with a payload that could include bombs or chemical agents.

Experts believe the technology exists to arm drones with firearms, and illustrate that a demo video is already available showing paintball guns hitting targets accurately. A demonstration at the SXSW Technology Show in 2014 also showed a Taser mounted on a drone hitting a human target with accuracy.

Drones have already interfered with police helicopter operations and medical transport helicopters.
