Apple: Not iWatch, but Apple Watch Introduced at Apple Keynote September 9, 2014

Apple introduced a new watch known as Apple Watch reported to have a sapphire display in a stainless steel housing. The keynote address saved the “One more Thing” event for last with the Apple Watch.

Apple Watch is described as a comprehensive health and fitness companion.

Infrared LEDs and photodiodes act as a digital crown that translates rotary movement into digital data. Apparently the watch does not use a touch screen for navigation, but does sense touch and force to determine difference between a tap and a press, and allows some communication actions, and the ability to draw figures to send in messages.

The Apple Watch has hundreds of apps which could give new meaning to distracted driving.
