Lake County Sheriff and Long Grove firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:15 PM Friday to a house fire, 5421 Tall Oaks Drive Long Grove, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a bedroom was on fire, and that the homeowner was trying to fight the fire from the rear with a garden hose.
First Long Grove firefighters on the scene reported a single family home with heavy fire through the roof.
Long Grove’s battalion chief upgraded the fire to a working fire response at about 9:23 p.m.
Firefighters had a good knock down from the outside by about 9:30 p.m. and were working on an interior attack.
Searches were clear by about 9:42 PM. The fire was reported under control by about 10:09 PM. At 10:09 PM firefighters reported no visible hot spots and were beginning overhaul.
