Smoking Elevator at Apartment/Condo on South Cleveland Ave and Park St, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:30 PM Saturday to a report of a burning smell at 525 South Cleveland Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Firefighter/paramedics on the scene reported nothing showing from the outside. Inside investigation by firefighters discovered an elevator smoking. Firefighters shut down the electric power to the elevator and investigating the elevator room.

Firefighters reported no smoke in the third floor, but did detect a burning odor from the elevator shaft at the third floor level.

Firefighters were working to get maintenance or other repair service for the elevator via a management-related contact who is onsite.
