Ditka’s Restaurant in Arlington Heights will open Tuesday, June 24, and be the third and largest, of the former Bears coach’s Chicago area restaurants. The restaurant is returning after Arlington International Racetrack officials approached the restaurant group — offering nearly 25,000 square feet of space at the Trackside off track betting facility at Euclid Avenue and New Wilke Road (2000 West Euclid Avenue).
The Arlington Heights location is more casual than the white tablecloth locations in Chicago, but there are no TVs in the main restaurant. Ditka’s is serving food at a bar directly across from the restaurant in the Trackside facility where TVs will display the races. The menu selections will include the traditional Ditka steaks, but will also have sandwiches, entree salads, tacos, burgers, a variety of appetizers, soups, pasta, and desserts.
Ditka’s in Arlington Heights is the largest of Ditka’s locations (one in Chicago, one in Oakbrook Terrace, one in Pittsburgh and one in Laveen, Arizona) with a main dining room with 312 seats, and an additional Hall of Fame room available for private dining and wedding banquets with 250 seats, and a terrace with another 125 seats. Almost 150 employees will be working at the restaurant.
A pre-grand opening Saturday night included Mike Ditka and a few hundred of his friends and supporters before the steakhouse opens to the general public on Tuesday, June 24, 2014.
Ditka’s will be open for lunch and dinner Monday through Friday, and will open at 9 a.m. for breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays.
