SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING in Effect Until 7:15 PM for North Central Cook, Southeast Lake Counties extended until 8:00 p.m.

A thunderstorm cell quickly developed about 6:15 p.m. and passed mostly just east of Arlington Heights. A second line was forming just along a long line from North Central Cook County southwest toward Kane County in the 7:00 p.m. time frame.

There have been several reports of trees struck by lightning in the area. A house fire at 1451 West Byron is possibly caused by a lightning strike.

Some small hail fell in Arlington Heights about 6:38 p.m.
