Firefighters set up an extrication operation and extricated both victims quickly.

At least five vehicles were involved in the crash. A witness who saw the accident was southeastbound on Rand Road when she suddenly’s saw a red pick up truck coming right at her going northwest in the southeastbound lanes. Rand Road will be blocked in both directions between Thomas Street and Dryden for an extended accident investigation. rand Road was partially opened about 3:30 p.m. is now open. Thomas Street was open during the investigation, but it was congested in the area — especially westbound because most of the northwest traffic turned west on Thomas Street.
