Arlington Heights Weather Forecast: Falling Temperatures Today, Rain-To-Snow Showers, Warm Thursday-Friday, Cold Weekend

Chicagoland weather radar [LIVE PRECIPITATION TYPE RADAR] shows rain passing across Chicagoland with the heaviest rain across Oak Lawn and Joliet areas. Radar indicates snow in northwest Illinois, west of Freeport.

Light rain is expected to end about noon today, and sprinkles are forecast to end about 3:00 p.m. Some snow flurries are possible from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. as temperatures drop today.

Satellite images show mostly cloudy conditions in northern Illinois.

Significant weather near term are gusty winds and dropping temperatures with a rebound to warmer temperatures tomorrow.

TODAY Sunrise: 6:55 AM Sunset: 7:03 PM
Rain before 1pm, then a slight chance of rain and snow showers between 1pm and 4pm, then a slight chance of snow showers after 4pm. Patchy fog before 1pm. Temperature falling to around 42 by 4pm. and 32 by midnight. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph about 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Tonight Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 27 at 7:00 a.m. Thursday. Breezy, with a west wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Thursday Sunny, with a high near 45 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. West wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph from noon to 3:00 p.m.

Thursday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 33. West southwest wind around 5 mph becoming southeast after midnight.

Friday A 30 percent chance of showers after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 56. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Friday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 32.

Saturday Partly sunny, with a high near 39.
Saturday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21.

Sunday Mostly sunny, with a high near 31.

Sunday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 19.

Monday A slight chance of snow. Partly sunny, with a high near 36.

Monday Night A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24.

Tuesday A chance of snow. Partly sunny, with a high near 33. Breezy.
