Illinois State police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:48 PM Saturday to a crash involving a snow plow at 42.131712,-88.005308 (southbound Route 53, just north of Rand Road, Palatine, IL). Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a snow plow and a car were involved in a crash.
Police and firefighter/paramedics arrived on the scene and found a snow plow facing sideways in Lane 1 and Lane 2, and a Jaguar near the median wall.
There were no serious injuries reported and there were no transports. Firefighters and police worked for at least 45 minutes at the scene — standing by while plows cleared the salt load dumped by the snow plow.
Southbound Route 53 was blocked for an extended period.
