Arlington Heights Weather Forecast: 0.5″ Snow Today, About 1.5″ Snow Saturday

Chicagoland weather radar [LIVE PRECIPITATION TYPE RADAR] shows a band of snow headed down from Wisconsin at about 9:35 a.m. The line runs from the northern suburbs of Milwaukee to Davenport, Iowa. About one-half inch of snow is forecast to fall between noon and 8:00 p.m. Another snowfall is forecast for Saturday amounting to about 0.6 inch to 1.8 inch between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Some forecasters are predicting 2 to 5 inches of snow for Saturday. Thursday’s snowfall was about 0.5 inch.

Satellite images show mostly cloudy conditions over most of the Midwest, including northern Illinois. Clouds are expect to diminish a little by midnight Friday/Saturday, but then increase through the early morning hours.

Tuesday and Wednesday next week if forecast for another cold outbreak, but not as severe as the cold which broke a record low of -15 and exceeded it to -16 degrees on Monday January 6, 2014.
