Satellite images show few clouds over the Midwest at 5:45 a.m. Today is expected be mostly sunny. Clouds are not expected to start increasing until Tuesday about 9:00 p.m.
Infrared satellite images show clouds in central and eastern Iowa — moving east, but dissipating. Cloudy skies are expected to start clearing at about midnight and gradually continue to clear until midnight Monday/Tuesday.

Temperature is the big weather topic this week. Temperatures will hold at about 20 to 21 degrees from about 8:00 a.m. until about 2:00 p.m. today. Then the temperatures will drop down to 13 degrees by about 6:00 p.m., and 10 degrees (0 wind chill at Soldier Field, -5 wind chill in Arlington Heights) by the end of the Bears-Cowboys game about 10:00 p.m.
Wind gusts are forecast to be from the west at 20 to 26 MPH from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The gusts are expected end by 8:00 p.m. at Soldier Field and in Arlington Heights.
Wind chill temperatures will also decrease throughout the day and night from 7 degrees at 9:00 a.m. down to -12 degrees at 5:00 a.m. Tuesday.
The wind chill is not expected to rise above 4 degrees during the day Tuesday with an actual high of 20 degrees. Winds are expected to gust up to 36 MPH on Tuesday.
Wednesday’s high of 20 degrees on the thermometer will arrive at 4:00 a.m. and last until only 10:00 a.m. Then temperatures are expected to drop again like today. The wind chill Wednesday is forecast to drop from a high of 13 degrees at 5:00 a.m. down to -1 degree at noon, -10 at 6:00 p.m. and -13 degrees at midnight Wednesday/Thursday.
Thursday’s low is forecast at -1 from 4:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. with an associated -15 wind chill.
