Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:07 PM Thursday to a report of a gas spill at the UPS Freight warehouse, 750 South Hicks Rd Palatine, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that about 100 gallons of fuel were spilled at the location. Actual amount may have been much less.
A squad and engine responded to the scene. Employees were using booms prior to firefighters arrival on scene.
Apparently a truck hit a curb and cut the saddle tanks. Fuel may have leaked on roadways in the area. Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago was notified.
