Veterans Protest the United States Government Shutdown with the Million Vet March

#ad▼

Veterans gathered outside the White House to express their discontent over the government shutdown.

Veterans and their friends and families pushed through the barriers at the World War II and Lincoln Memorials. Barricades were thrown at the White House gates, and chanted “You work for us.”

The Million Vet March on the Memorials protest started at the World War II Memorial, moved to the Lincoln Memorial and then to the White House. Police got into riot gear when the protest moved to the White House.

Groups of tractor-trailers drivers from the “Truckers Ride for the Constitution,” participated in a protest in the area all weekend, and joined the memorial protesters to show their support for the veterans.
