Jon Lewis Alexander of Marionville, Missouri, thwarted a robbery at a liquor store after the would-be robber pulled a gun on him.

Jon Lewis Alexander was reportedly working at a liquor store Sunday night, September 1, 2013, when a man walked into the store smoking a cigarette. The man turned out to be an armed robber. Just after Alexander asked the man to take the cigarette back outside, the suspect is shown on video pulling out a gun with his right hand. Alexander brushes off the gun with his left hand while pulling out a gun of his own from a holster on his right, rear hip. Alexander told the man, “you need to get out of here before I blow your (expletive) head off.”

Alexander had permission from the liquor store owner to work with possession of his weapon. He served four tours of duty in Iraq during his 30 years in the U.S. military, and also had experience as a prison guard.

Marionville, Missouri is a small city in Lawrence County, Missouri, United States. The population was 2,225 at the 2010 census.
