The Cleveland home, where Ariel Castro kept his three victims locked away for years, is torn down.

On May 6, 2013, three women from Cleveland, Ohio—Amanda Berry, Georgina “Gina” DeJesus, and Michelle Knight—were rescued from captivity in a Cleveland house owned by their kidnapper, Ariel Castro.

Michell Knight had disappeared in 2002 at age 21,

Amanda Berry disappeared in 2003 at age 16.

Georgina “Gina” DeJesus disappeared in 2004 at age 14.

A young girl — the six-year-old daughter of Amanda Berry, who was fathered by Castro — was also rescued. The women were discovered after Berry escaped the house with her daughter and contacted police. Amanda Berry’s initial escape was initially assisted by three neighbors.

The Cleveland house where 3 women were held captive and raped for more than a decade is demolished as victims’ family members watch Wednesday morning, August 7, 2013.
