AP Photographer: “It Was a Miracle They Got Out” on Search and Rescue Efforts

AP photographer Sue Ogrocki was at the Plaza Towers Elementary School destroyed by a tornado Monday, and saw rescuers pulling children out of the rubble. Here are Ogrocki’s own words and images of the destruction – and ‘miracle’ – she witnessed.

Trenda Purcell reunites with her son Kamden after a massive tornado struck his school in Moore, Oklahoma. Purcell says she’s amazed Kamden walked out of the building alive and unhurt.

The day after a massive tornado swept through Moore, Okla., the suburb is a place of mourning for those lost. And it is a place for reunions of children with parents, with most residents marveling at how they survived the storm’s fury.
