Arlington Heights police responded about 11:22 PM Friday to a residential burglary that ‘just occurred’ in the block of 2600 North Brighton Place Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders entered a residence with no signs of force and removed an unknown amount of jewelry, a 37-inch TV and a 42-inch TV. There are no value estimates available. The rear patio door was found unlocked and the vertical blinds were halfway open. The first sign that the resident knew there was trouble was when a lava rock was discovered on a table inside the home.
A pillow case was also missing from the home — apparently used to carry some of the jewelry out of the home. A necklace was found on the floor in the house, and some jewelry was also found outside near the home.
The crime is reported to have occurred between 6:00 p.m. and 11:21 p.m.
No connection has been made with this incident, but police received a report of a suspicious incident on Thursday March 18, 2013 about 6:25 p.m. when a male/white adult and a small girl walked inside a home in the same block. The homeowner yelled at the subjects, and they left in a gray Subaru.
