Decreased chance of heavy rain and decreased chance of severe weather this afternoon. Fortunately we’re not likely to receive the extra 2.0 inches of rain that was forecast for today about 6:00 a.m. this morning.

Radar shows precipitation moving off to the east and northeast.

One-quarter inch to one-half inch of rain may occur at Interstate 55 and further southeast.

Winds are already increasing to about 17 mph. Gusts are expected to reach about 30 mph this afternoon and tonight. Some barricades at flooded roads are already starting to blow over or blow into traffic.
