ILLINOIS…

DES PLAINES RIVER AT LINCOLNSHIRE AFFECTING LAKE COUNTY
DES PLAINES RIVER NEAR DES PLAINES AFFECTING COOK COUNTY
DES PLAINES RIVER AT RIVERSIDE AFFECTING COOK COUNTY
DES PLAINES RIVER NEAR RUSSELL AFFECTING LAKE COUNTY
DES PLAINES RIVER NEAR GURNEE AFFECTING LAKE COUNTY

.SYNOPSIS…
A RECORD FLOOD EVENT IS FORECAST FOR PARTS OF THE DES PLAINS RIVER
BASIN. TWO AND A HALF TO FOUR INCHES OF RAINFALL THROUGH EARLY THIS
MORNING…ALONG WITH AN ADDITIONAL ONE TO THREE INCHES OF RAIN
ACROSS MUCH OF THE DES PLAINES RIVER BASIN WILL LEAD TO
SIGNIFICANT RIVER RISES INTO FRIDAY. CRESTS MAY LAST AS LONG AS 12
TO 24 HOURS AT SOME POINTS.

SAFETY MESSAGE…IF YOU ENCOUNTER A FLOODED ROADWAY…TURN AROUND AND
FIND AN ALTERNATE ROUTE.

THE DES PLAINES RIVER NEAR DES PLAINES.
* UNTIL THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.
* AT 245 AM THURSDAY THE STAGE WAS 6.0 FEET.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 5.0 FEET.
* MINOR FLOODING IS OCCURRING AND RECORD FLOODING IS FORECAST.
* FORECAST…THE RIVER WILL CONTINUE RISING TO NEAR 11.5 FEET BY
FRIDAY MORNING. THE RIVER WILL FALL BELOW FLOOD STAGE WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON.
