Arson to Several Vehicles on South Arthur Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:01 AM Monday to a report of arson/vehicle fires at Warren’s Car Doctor parking lot, 533 S. Arthur Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:39 AM Friday to a truck fire in the block of 800 South Arthur Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report a Ford Excursion was on fire. Police arrived first and reported a car fire. Firefighters reported a working car fire, and extinguished the fire.

No word on the cause of the fire in the Ford Excursion.

Monday police also received a report that an unknown offender or offenders entered the following UNLOCKED vehicles and set fires which caused the following damage to a beige 1997 Ford Contour (damage to the driver side visor – $100) a beige 1987 Cadillac Fleetwood (damage to the rear seat – $250) and a red 1999 Ford Ranger (burnt out passenger seat and smoke damage – $950). A lighter may have been used to set the fires. All three vehicles are owned by the business. The arson damage was reported after fires had already been extinguished. No information available on who extinguished the fires or how the fires were extinguished.

Last September 20, 2013 a tree and much were set on fire nearby in the 900 block of South Arthur Avenue (originally reported as South McKinley Avenue). The fire was set intentionally.

The crime involving the three vehicles discovered on Monday morning is reported to have occurred between Friday April 5, 2013 at 5:00 pm and Monday April 8, 2013 at 9:00 am.
