Retail Theft Suspect Arrested at Dominicks on East Palatine Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 9:45 PM Friday to a report of a retail theft suspect detained at Domincks, 325 East Palatine Road Arlington Heights, IL. Fernando Cortez, 18, who lives in 100 block of west Jeffery in Wheeling, was charged with one count of retail theft, local ordinance. The suspect was observed in the liquor aisle putting alcohol in the cart. Cortez went to the checkout while another person left the store with the cart and the alcohol. Total value of alcohol was $93.70.

Cortez was detained by loss prevention but the suspect with the alcohol fled.

Court date for Cortez is April 29.
