DUI Driver Arrested After Motorist First Reports Reckless Driving on Northbound Route 53, Almost Hits Car

Arlington Heights police received a report about 3:48 AM Saturday of a possible DUI driver near Dundee Road and Wilke Road Arlington Heights, IL. Illinois State police and Arlington Heights received multiple calls about the vehicle as it headed northbound Route 53 and then eastbound Dundee Road near Arlington Nissan. The vehicle was reported as a silver SUV. The driver was also reported to have been vomiting on the ramp from northbound Route 53 to eastbound Dundee Road.

A Buffalo Grove police officer responded from Arlington Heights Road and Dundee Road, but the suspect DUI driver made a u-turn, and got back on northbound Route 53. Buffalo Grove police caught up with the vehicle on the off ramp from northbound Route 53 to eastbound Lake Cook Road. Police had the vehicle stopped after the driver almost hit another car. Palatine police also caught up with the vehicle.

By 4:00 a.m. the driver was in custody for DUI. The female driver was transported in custody to Buffalo Grove Police Department headquarters.
