Cab At Northwest Highway And Evergreen Ave Early Sunday Was Not Connected With Sexual Assault Case

Arlington Heights police responded about 2:34 AM Sunday to a report of theft of services at Northwest Highway and Evergreen Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that a subject ran from a cab without paying while a taxi cab was stopped at Northwest Highway and Evergreen Avenue.

The offender was described as a male/black subject, about 20-years-old, wearing a blue T-shirt and jeans. The subject was last seen in a parking lot north of the intersection of Northwest Highway and Evergreen Avenue.

About two minutes later police received a call for help for a cab driver that kidnapped one of three woman who attempted to get out of the cab when the cab driver acted inappropriately — initially described as sexual harrassment. One of the three women was not able to escape the cab and was sexually assaulted in the cab in Schaumburg near Algonquin Road and near Rolling Meadows (See also The Cardinal Schaumburg Police Charge Taxi Cab Driver Eric Chung With Kidnapping, Sexual Assault; 2 Friends Escape Cab Near Recreation Park, Arlington Heights).

Police were able to respond immediately to both calls.
