Vehicle Burglar Gets Dell Laptop While Unlocked Vehicle Was Exposed Only 6 Minutes on North Kennicott Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 9:18 AM Friday to Bright Horizon Daycare, 3523 North Kennicott Avenue Arlington Heights, IL to a report of a vehicle burglary that just occurred. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders burglarized a blue Honda CRV while it was parked in front of the business for only about six minutes.

The victim parked in front of the building and went inside to pick up her child. When she arrived home, she realized that her red leather purse and Dell laptop computer, valued $1500, were missing.

The vehicle was UNLOCKED for the short time that she went inside the building.

The purse contain a red leather wallet with $15 cash, house keys, and an extra set of car keys.

One unauthorized purchase on a credit card was reported at an undisclosed Speedway for an undisclosed amount of gas.

The Dell laptop was in a black cloth bag.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Friday, January 18, 2013 between 6:00 p.m. and 6:06 p.m.
