Retail Theft Suspect Arrested at Jewel-Osco on South Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 12:15 PM Thursday to a report of a retail theft suspect detained at Jewel-Osco, 1860 South Arlington Heights Road. Loss prevention observed a man go into the pharmacy area and put over-the-counter medications in a handheld shopping basket. The man went to a frozen food aisle and started putting items into the lining of his jacket

The man set the basket down inside the store when he saw loss prevention personnel following him, but at least one bottle of Align — a digestive care probiotic valued at about $30 — remained in the lining of his coat. He left the store,, but loss prevention brought him back inside the store.

Marcelo Delloglio, 40-years-old, of the 9800 block of Garden Court in Schiller Park, was arrested and charged with one count misdemeanor retail theft. He is due in court January 17, 2012.
