Arlington Heights police attempted to stop a dark SUV 12:29 AM Monday, but the driver failed to stop and accelerated while southbound on Windsor Drive from Palatine Road. The vehicle was occupied by three people. The driver was male/white wearing a black or dark hoodie. The SUV blew the stop sign and drove into the dead end of Dryden near the intersection of Rand Road and Thomas Street while reaching a speed of about 60 mph. The driver turned around at the dead end and headed northbound — again blowing a stop sign and reaching a speed in excess of 70 mph. Police quickly terminated the pursuit for safety reason just north of Palatine Road. The driver of the SUV turned right on Hintz Road.

The offending driver’s vehicle was described as a black SUV — possibly a BMW or Mercedes. The license plate was described as a Florida plate, BMZ 11. The entire incident last less than one minute, and no crashes were reported.
