Nightclub Calls for Help for Unwanted Subject: Man Tasered on Gibbons Ave After Prospect Heights Police Offer Him a Ride Home from Nightclub on Rand Road

Prospect Heights police responded about 2:19 AM Saturday to a report of an unwanted intoxicated subject at Home House of Music & Entertainment, 1227 North Rand Road. Prospect Heights police received a report that an intoxicated subject would not leave the Home House of Music & Entertainment. Police discovered an injured person or highly intoxicated person at Thomas Street and Russetwood Drive in Arlington Heights. Police also met with another subject at Home House of Music & Entertainment. Paramedics were called for the man on Thomas Street.

Prospect Heights police offered a ride for the other subject from the establishment to his residence in Arlington Heights. Minutes later at about 2:41 a.m. Prospect Heights police requested backup to the 300 block of South Gibbons Avenue in Arlington Heights for an apparent struggle with the man who was offered a ride home. The man was tasered, but either the taser failed to subdue the man or the taser failed to deploy properly. Arlington Heights police arrived with several units on Gibbons Avenue to find an empty Prospect Heights police car and a struggle in the backyard. Prospect Heights police backup also responded. Police immediately had the subject in custody. Prospect Heights transported the subject to Prospect Heights Police Department Headquarters.
