DeKalb police responded about 10:14 AM Friday for an unresponsive male college student at the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house, 1020 West Hillcrest Drive. David R. Bogenberger, 19, of Palatine was found unresponsive Friday in a bed located in a Pi Kappa Alpha “PIKES” fraternity house bedroom. He was pronounced dead at 10:45 a.m. at the scene by DeKalb County Coroner Dennis Miller.
DeKalb Police Department is investigating the death and circumstances, and autopsy results completed today will be combined with toxicology results to attempt to determine the cause of death. The toxicology tests will take 10 to 14 days. Bogenberger was possibly a pledge at the fraternity, but this has not been confirmed.
David Bogenberger graduated from Palatine High School in June 2012.
