Arlington Heights police received a report about 7:30 PM Sunday of an attempted residential burglary at an apartment in the 1100 block of East Algonquin Road. Police received a report that a resident discovered a deadbolt was damaged, but it did not appear that entry was made and nothing was missing in the apartment. Police discovered that the deadbolt was missing, but the resident had already picked up the missing pieces.
