NYPD VIDEO: Rescue of 5 Adults, 1 Child from Staten Island Rooftop by Police Helicopter 23 Aviation and Scuba Crew

The NYPD has released video of rooftop rescues on Staten Island of residents who were trapped due to rising waters. Members of Aviation and Scuba rescued five adults and one child who were trapped in their houses due to rising waters (Video 4 of 4 released).

NYPD released video Wednesday of rooftop rescues on Staten Island where residents were trapped due to rising waters.

In the video, an officer is lowered on a line to a rooftop. The police officer approaches the victim, and a basket is lowered. The person is secured to the basket, and is lifted up to the helicopter. The rescue repeats until five adults and one child are removed to safety.

Police report the rescues by Helicopter 23 and crew occurred Tuesday, October 30, 2012 . Helicopter 23 is named after the 23 New York City police officers who were killed on Sept. 11, 2001.
