Chicago police responded about 2:00 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a shooting at The Factory gentlemen’s club, 12054 South Doty Avenue. Police received a report that a man in his 20’s was standing with friends in the parking lot outside The Factory when he was shot multiple times in the groin.
No immediate arrest was reported and there is no word if the offender was known by the victim. The victim was transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition.
Chicago police are investigating.
Chicago, not only has a record known for high homicide numbers (400 so far for 2012/+25% compared to last year), it also has a reputation for a high number of shots to the groin. Chicago’s Level I Trauma Center John H. Stroker Cook County Hospital’s trauma unit has the distinction of the most gunshot wounds to the genitals of any trauma unit in the the City of Chicago.
