Theft of Airsoft Gun During Transaction Meeting Near Portillo’s Lot on Dundee Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report of a theft at 806 West Dundee Road, parking lot near Portillo’s. Police received a report that an airsoft pellet Cybergun M4 style airsoft rifle and accessories valued at $165 were stolen. The complainant was selling the items and had listed the items on Illinois Airsoft forum. The victim was meeting with a potential buyer when the theft occurred. The buyer said he wated to show the items to his wife, who was sitting in a vehicle nearby. The seller let “the potential buyer” carry the items to the nearby vehicle and the offenders fled with the items.

The offenders’ vehicle was described as a black Honda CRV. The offender was described as a male/white 5’9 175 LBS, mid-30’s spikey short brown hair with a mustache and goatee.

The crime is reported to have occurred at 12:09 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2012.

An electric charger, 300-hundred-round magazines, a tan tactical vest with pockets and a water pouch were also reported stolen.
