Crash scene during investigation of a car vs. motorcycle collision at Elmhurst Road and Camp McDonald Road Monday evening.
Prospect Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:35 p.m. Monday to a report of a car vs. motorcycle crash at Elmhurst Road and Camp McDonald Road. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that the motorcyclist was down and that air bags deployed in the car.
A male motorcyclist was transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. A female driver of a red Pontiac was not transported to the hospital. The Pontiac had heavy front end damage and the air bags were deployed.
Eastbound Camp McDonald Road was blocked at Elmhurst Road. Southbound Elmhurst Road was blocked at Camp McDonald Road. Northbound Elmhurst Road was down to one lane.
Accident Investigators from Mount Prospect police and Prospect Heights police were on the scene, but no word was officially available about the cause of the crash. At the crash scene it appeared that the motorcycle might have been southbound on Elmhurst Road and that the red Pontiac may have been northbound Elmhurst Road and making a left turn to westbound Camp McDonald Road — this has NOT been confirmed by police.
