Car Fire at Woodfield Corporate Center on North Martingale Rd, Schaumburg

Car fire on the third floor of a parking garage at Woodfield Corporate Center in Schaumburg totaled a Pontiac Wednesday morning.

Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:57 AM Wednesday to a report of a car fire in a parking garage at Woodfield Corporate Center, 300 North Martingale Road. Firefighters reported a car fire upon arrival with smoke showing. The involved car was in the middle of the third level. Firefighters connected fire engines to a standpipe and dragged hose a good distance from the north side of the parking garage — possibly about 400 feet from the northwest corner walls to the location of the car fire.

It took a few minutes for the line to become charged with that long distance of hose led out. A good amount of physical exertion with stair climbing and hose dragging in the heat and smokey conditions was experienced by several of the crew members.
