A stretch of Plum Grove Road is closed after winds blew utility poles to 45 degree angles and brought down power lines on the west side of Plum Grove Road between. Southbound Plum Grove Road is closed for an extended period after high winds and lightning brought down utility poles along Plum Grove Road between Higgins Road and Schaumburg
Northbound Plum Grove Road is also closed from Schaumburg Road to Lakeland.
Numerous power outages are also reported in the area with several traffic signals out.
