Family and Friends Search for Missing — Feared Colorado Shooting Victims

Family and friends gather at Gateway High School in Aurora, Colo. in search of news about loved ones missing after a shooting a movie theater. Those with family members not listed as being at hospitals filed a missing persons report.

Patricia Legarreta and Jamie Rohrs were in an Aurora movie theater with their four-month-old baby Friday when a gunman opened fire, killing 12 people and wounding nearly 60. Patricia took shrapnel to her right leg. The baby is in good condition.

As the new Batman movie played on the screen, a gunman dressed in black and wearing a helmet, marched up the aisle in the stadium-style theater, picking off those who tried to flee, witnesses said. Authorities said he hit 71 people.

Aurora Colorado’s Police Chief Dan Oates says at least 200 officers responded to the shooting scene at a movie theater that left 12 dead and 59 injured. Oates says they can’t count the number of rounds that were fired. The suspect James Holmes was apprehended in a white Hyundai in the back parking lot of the theater. The following weapons were discovered: AR-15, Remington H70 Shotgun, and two .40 caliber Glock handguns.
