VIDEO: Waldo Canyon Fire; Forest Fire Near U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado

Air Force firefighters have contained the wildfire to 10 acres of the Air Force Academy grounds. But with the wind picking up, the threat grows from the fire that’s claimed over 16 thousand acres of Colorado so far.

Fire crews fought to save the U.S. Air Force Academy and residents begged for information on the fate of their homes Wednesday after a night of terror sent thousands of people fleeing a raging Colorado Springs wildfire.

Waldo Canyon fire on the south western boundary of the United States Air Force Academy. At the time this video was taken, the fire had not encroached Academy property. POV looks south from various locations on the academy grounds. Time span was 1700MST to 2000MST.
