Two Juveniles Detained After Report of ‘Checking Vehicles with Flashlight’ on North Belmont Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 3:45 a.m. Saturday to a report of suspicious juvenile males near Belmont Avenue and Frederick Street. Police received a report that three juvenile males were walking northbound on Belmont Avenue and that one was carrying a flashlight.

One of the subjects carrying the flashlight turned off the flashlight when they were the group was aware that they were seen. Police received a report that they checked vehicles on a driveway on the west side of Belmont Avenue between Frederick Street and Oakton Street.

Police also received a report about 3:55 a.m. that they were sitting on a bench right behind Olive-Mary Stitt School at the southeast corner of the building.

Police later stopped two juveniles in the 1300 block of North Arlington Heights Road, just north of Olive-Mary Stitt School, and transported them two Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters. No word on whether they were detained for curfew violation or other violation(s).
